The death has been announced of Malam Abubakar Chika, Sardaunan Sanyinna.He died in the early morning of Thursday May 14, following a brief illness.
Aged 63, late Sardaunan Sanyinna is survived by two wives, 27 children, and many grandchildren.
Until his death, he served as a lecturer in the Department of Hausa at the Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto. He was also a renowned Hausa poet, an analyst of Hausa culture and tradition, and the publisher of “Basanyinna” a Hausa community magazine that recently transformed into ALTISCO Magazine.
His funeral prayer was attended by prominent personalities from within and outside Sanyinna.
