Chairman, Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Malam Aliyu Musa says so far, the 2026 hajj records success with the State pilgrims intact. In an interview with DCL Hausa, the PWA Chairman has 
said, as usual, each pilgrim receives 1000 Saudi Riyal as Sallah gift from the State Governor, Dr Ahmed Aliyu. Mal. Aliyu Musa stated that the donation was announced by the leader of the Sokoto State Pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj and Minister of Labour, Alhaji Muhammadu Maigari Dingyaɗi. On the number of Sokoto State pilgrims, Aliyu Musa submitted that they are 2,410. Responding to the question on shortfall of the population of pilgrims compared to previous years, he explained that it was a nation-wide matter, based on the date of closure for the payment of hajj seats among other issues. On the date of commencement for the return of pilgrims home, the Sokoto PWA Chairman announced that, it was slated for June 11.
